LINPS Nurse Practitioner Mary Carter will be a featured speaker at the annual Nurse Practitioners Association of Long Island Conference on Friday, April 7th at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.
Mary Carter, MS, ANP-BC, RN-BC, will speak on “Understanding the Patient in Pain & Substance Use Disorder,” addressing an audience of Nurse Practitioners who provide patient care in acute care, primary care, family practice, adult and pediatric health, as well as NP students. Her objective is to provide a clear appreciation of the scope of both pain and substance use disorder in the United States, and educate the audience on the National Pain Initiative, and how regulations affect practice.
Ms. Carter is the Director of Clinical Services in Pain Management, Master Faculty for the American Society of Pain Management, and Adjunct Professor at LIU FNP Program. She recently joined the Interventional Pain Management Group at Long Island Neurosurgical & Pain Specialists (LINPS).
