EXPERIENCED FULL-TIME MEDICAL BILLER / COLLECTIONS SPECIALIST 

Rare opportunity to work in a highly respected and expanding private practice as a key member of the Billing / Collections Department.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Review and follow up on in and out of network claims
  • Prioritize heavy claim volume in fast-paced environment
  • Appeal denials / incorrect payments
  • Negotiate high-dollar surgical claims
  • Identify opportunities to increase collections and communicate same to physicians and/or Billing Manager
  • Manage special projects as needed

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Extensive experience in out-of-network surgical billing/collections, all commercial carriers, Medicare/Medicaid and WC, NF
  • Neurosurgical coding knowledge / experience
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to think “outside the box”
  •  Ability to interact with all levels of staff as well as physicians
  •  Management experience
  •  Bachelor’s degree preferred

NEW PATIENT INTAKE COORDINATOR

It is the responsibility of the New Patient Intake Coordinator to ensure the professional, timely and accurate handling of all new patient appointment requests, from initial patient call to scheduling of new patient appointment, with a focus on patient and doctor needs. The New Patient Intake Coordinator will work to provide a friendly and positive initial interaction with our office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle calls from new patients and complete intake.
  • Verify insurance and obtain recent testing information.
  • Send intakes to doctors for review and scheduling instructions
  • Schedule appointments for new patients.
  • Create new patient chart and appointment within electronic medical record.
  • Ensure 48 hour (2 business days) turn-around time for all new patient appointment requests once all requested information has been received using efficient workflow / process.

Qualifications:

  • HS diploma or higher
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in medical practice, including insurance verification (commercial, Medicare, WC, NF, out of network)
  • Excellent phone and communication skills
  • “Customer service”-oriented
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining doctor and patient satisfaction in fast-paced environment
  • High level of organization
  • Detail-oriented
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) strongly preferred

PT MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST/FRONT DESK – West Islip, NY

LINPS is seeking a Front Desk/Medical Receptionist  to work in a friendly and fast-paced, team oriented environment. This is a part-time position.

Mandatory Requirements

  • One year experience working front desk at a medical office is REQUIRED.
  • Experience verifying insurance and obtaining referrals.
  • Ability to use scheduling software.
  • Experience confirming appointments.
  • Experience greeting, checking-in patients, making appointments and answering multiple phone lines.

Additional Qualifications

  • Must be friendly and professional with a desire to provide an optimal patient experience.
  • Solid organizational skill-sets are necessary. The ability to follow-up and complete tasks is essential.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform other general office responsibilities.
  • Bilingual skills are highly desirable but not required.
